Skoda Superb TDI Confirmed for India: Pre-Bookings Open, Deliveries in Q2 2027
Alongside today's Slavia facelift launch and the reopening of Octavia RS bookings, Skoda has confirmed a diesel-powered Superb for India, opening pre-bookings with deliveries scheduled for Q2 2027 — a considerably longer wait than the other two, reflecting its status as a fresh CBU import program rather than a straightforward relaunch.
A diesel Superb marks a genuine return for Skoda in India, which has leaned almost entirely on turbo-petrol power across its lineup in recent years. Official pricing and full variant details weren't part of today's announcement. Based on prior reporting around this car, expect a 2.0-litre TDI engine producing roughly 193 hp and 400 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic — figures that haven't been officially confirmed and are worth treating as indicative rather than final until Skoda publishes a spec sheet. Expect the Superb to arrive as a fully-imported CBU model, in keeping with how Skoda has brought the Kodiaq RS and Octavia RS to India.
On the practicality side, the Superb has long been one of the largest sedans sold in India by boot volume, and prior reporting pointed to a 13-inch touchscreen and Skoda's "Smart Dials" physical-digital control cluster carrying over from the global-market car. We'll confirm the full feature list once Skoda releases official documentation.
Why It Matters
A Q2 2027 delivery window is a long runway for a pre-booking, longer than either the Octavia RS or the Slavia facelift. That likely reflects import logistics on a brand-new CBU program rather than reopening an existing one. For buyers, that means plenty of time to decide, but also plenty of time for pricing and spec details to shift before the car actually arrives.
